BITS AND PIECES 4

either i haven't really been paying attention or everyone's been remaining fairly low key, trying to remain under the radar after a rather contentious couple of weeks.   there was, however, a friday event that stood out.

paul ryan's opponent, paul nehlen, held a rally in janesville last night.   talk about stepping into the lion's den:   janesville is paul ryan's hometown.   in his district ryan holds an 86% approval rating which, in itself, should come as no surprise but just maybe nehlen thought that if people were so fed up with the politics of 2016 that they just might not be paying attention and one paul would be just as good as any other and they could ignore his attacks on their favorite son.   i mean who among them could ever disagree with him when he claims ryan is all for 'open borders' (which would, he said friday, only result in the bringing in of 'more cheap labor', surely leading to 'death and destruction'), 'is a disgrace' and his actions 'constitute borderline treason'....all quotes from his 39-part twitter rant against ryan.   during his rally he brought out the mothers of four children allegedly killed by illegal immigrants to stress his point, holding up photographs of their slain children.   maybe he thought that was his 'family khan moment'.   the local newspaper called it 'particularly despicable'.

but this display was apparently not to be the highlight of his rally because he really, REALLY needed a big name he could pull out of his ass....i mean hat...to extol what he passes off as virtues in order to convince the 'crowd' (for which there was no estimate provided nor exactly how well this sideshow was received) that he was their 'best and only hope'.   now, who should he pull onto the stage but TA-DAH!!! ann coulter.
<pause here in order to allow for the repression of any gag reflexes>
yes, the ann coulter who claimed that donald trump is all a part of some divine plan, called by god to save her beloved u.s. of a., at least the white christian part.   she criticized ryan's support of the tpp and his past support of the dream act because we all know that not only does that allow them to steal our jobs but it lets even legal immigrants to come in to commit crimes and 'occasionally flip out and murder americans'.

boy, doesn't that make you feel all tingly wishing you'd been there?

that was all i found in my local paper (as if that isn't enough?!).   now i'm sure i could find more, even some video of the actual event but, c'MON, would you want me to jeopardize my health, both physical and mental. like that?   i can only subject myself to so much at one time, thank you.

but, you know, thinking back on it i do believe i remember feeling the earth tremble a little and there was just the slightest scent of sulphur in the air.   i can only imagine how bad it must have been at 'ground zero: janesville'.

oh, and in case anybody missed it, donald trump called hillary 'unhinged'.
can you say 'projection'?
