BITS AND PIECES 8

it's overly apparent that donald trump can't go for any significant length of time without saying something stupid, a quality that seems to be something a lot of people want in their president because he's really 'just speaking his mind'.

yesterday, in different venues and to multiple reporters, he repeated his claim (not once, not twice, but twenty times) that obama was 'the founder of isis' which therefore means that since hillary was working under his command she is the 'co-founder'.  now, i have to wonder that when repeating something so often can it still be said one is 'doubling down'?   in a wednesday rally he said that isis actions were really 'honoring' obama and in a thursday interview, after claiming 'everyone' has liked those statements, one reporter, hugh hewitt, even gave him the chance to clarify his statement by saying what he really meant was the president's actions created a political vacuum that allowed the growth of isis but trump stood firm.   no!   obama created isis with his own two hands.   period   exclamation point.

well, as we've all become used to, this morning donald suddenly appeared to walk back his damning message by tweeting  'ratings challenged @cnn reports so seriously that i call president obama (and clinton) the 'founder' of isis and MVP.   THEY DON'T GET SARCASM?'   how many times  are we going to hear that same tired excuse, plucked from a long list of increasingly tired excuses, including 'i was taken out of context', 'it's not what i meant' and the one we've already heard thrown out by some of his 'best mind' surrogates 'it's just a spin from the liberal media and the clinton campaign' (i.e. 'it's rigged').

whether he's speaking off-the-cuff or reading from a script i can't help but think that after so many daily gaffs and verbal blunders it'll truly be a newsworthy day when the headline reads "DONALD TRUMP DOESN'T SAY SOMETHING THAT MAKES HIM SOUND LIKE A TOTAL IDIOT".

somehow i have the feeling that day will never come....unless, by chance, he can go for a full 24 hours without opening his mouth.  on that day the internet will short circuit, news feeds will go dark and snarky people like me will have to get a life.

oh, the horror!!!
