first of all, let me start off with a minor correction regarding the stopover of the TRUMP TRAVELING SHIT-SHOW in milwaukee yesterday. i guess i was wrong in saying scott would be present at the fox-sponsored town hall. scott's presence was relegated to a 'make america great again/elect the next president of america' introduction of the star of the night who, in proper diva fashion, showed up 45 minutes late. hell, it's not worth seeing if it's not worth waiting for, right? but i'm getting ahead of myself. as far as the pabst appearance, i could find no transcript of what was discussed, only a brief clip of trump talking about taking on isis as a teaser to watch the full show on fox for which i definitely do NOT have the stomach. they do mention some of the people who were privileged enough to share the stage with him and sean. whether or not they actually were allowed to say anything will go unanswered unless you, the reader, decide you have the stamina to watch the entire hour. some of those people mentioned, though not all by name, are terrorist expert and author, dr. sebastian gorka, an un-named widow of one of the men killed in benghazi, victims of the boston marathon and fort hood attacks (i'm assuming ones who survived) and "benghazi hero kris 'tanto' peronto"...i know, who? to clarify, he was a veteran-turned-private contractor hired by the cia for security and is the person who claims to have heard the infamous stand-down order (which has been since debunked) that prevented the rescue of ambassador stevens and the others who died. he has since made it his raison d'etre (look it up) to cast doubt on everything the administration says happened that night, and in the process make a little bit of money hiring himself out to appearances such as this.
anyway, the parade had to continue so onward to west bend, a community 25 miles outside milwaukee proper. what was originally scheduled as a rally was turned into a 'major policy address' in order to take full advantage of the unrest in a predominantly black milwaukee neighborhood that followed a fatal police shooting this past weekend. but as one attendee said, 'people up here don't really care what's going on in milwaukee.' however, never let it be said that the trump campaign didn't know how to take advantage of the presence of a large crowd that would most likely hang onto and cheer every word their potential leader might drop on their ears.
while decrying the violence taking place miles away and subtly stoking some underlying fears of 'them' reaching out to set fire to their neighborhoods, he also took time to reach out to black voters for their support. mind you, he was doing this in a community that has only a 1.6% black population. but with a national audience available why not take that golden chance to reach out and show that 'he cares. he really, really cares' (something he also mentioned during his town hall, where he said 'i have as big a heart as anybody'. how humble. not a bigger heart? a better heart? just a heart 'as big as anybody's) while others, egged on by clinton, are 'peddling the narrative that cops are a racist force in our society'. a fact that he seems willing to ignore is that in this most recent shooting the policeman involved was black, like the victim. but i guess that's just not worth mentioning, being a fact and all.
anyway, that's about all i could come up with. the rally that turned into a 'major address' drew to a close. attendees filed out into the growing darkness taking advantage of one last minute to buy trump buttons and trump hats before dispersing to their lovely homes in their lovely predominantly white community with the feeling that they had at last put their future in the right hands and america was definitely on the road to being great again. as for the rest of us, in the growing darkness, we watched the parade leave town with a brief golden flash. the sunset, we thought?
no. just donald vanishing below the horizon.
