i guess it's apparently a good idea that when your ship is sinking you take time to rearrange the deck chairs in hopes that it will make a difference. that seems to be trump's philosophy, because with a little over 80 days until the election (81 days, 17 hours, 36 minutes and counting actually) that's exactly what donald appears to be doing.
senior adviser kellyann conway, an ann coulter look-alike, has been made campaign manager and breitbart news executive chairman, stephen bannon, has been added as the campaign's ceo. while paul manafort will stay on as the trump campaign chair, many are looking at this as a demotion, possibly even a sign that he's being edged out, hopefully without anybody noticing since his predecessor was also rather unceremoniously dumped not long ago and, god forbid, this should signal some sort of trend. it's being said the change is being made in that area because donald was feeling 'boxed in', 'not understood' and being told he should stop being his genuine self (i.e. tone it down). bannon tends to be a more suitable fit since, in his position with breitbart he has been rather vocal about his support for donald's blustery, name-calling style and shouldn't change a thing. of course it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the tanking poll numbers or with the new york times revelations that his name ALLEGEDLY appears on leaked secret ledgers showing he collected millions as an advisor to a ukranian political party with close ties to russia and the kremlin, something he denies. point to be made here: donald recently proposed what he called a new process of 'extreme vetting' in order to more thoroughly examine those coming into the country. i can only think that JUST POSSIBLY he should establish a similar program when hiring people to work on his campaign. it's not enough that they completely agree with everything you say and bring with them their own kneepads and supply of chapstick.
now just don't tell donald's favorite spokes-blowup-doll that this is in any way a shakeup. during her wednesday appearance on cnn she went all apoplectic every time someone mentioned the word, claiming they (cnn) were the only ones calling it that. they were only bringing on new people and no one was getting canned (not yet at least) so THIS IS NOT A SHAKEUP!!!! (sheesh! someone pass her a paper bag). she had to be reminded that even fox was using the term, but it went right over her little bobblehead because she was in mid-rant about huma abedin, the clinton foundation, john podesta and the clinton campaigns 'direct ties to the russian government'. i know. that one in particular had me scratching my head.
but whatever they're doing and whatever anyone wants to call it, be it a shuffle, a rearrangement or an adjustment of the office feng shui, one can only think that short of a total reboot back to that descent down the golden escalator, in the long run it's too little too late. as long as donald insists on staying the course and being himself it's iceberg ahead, head for the lifeboats, women and children first.
this is not a drill.
UPDATE:
ben shapiro, former editor at breitbart who left when breitbart went all-pro-trump-all-the time turning it into, as he called it 'trump's pravda', and refused to defend michelle fields in her accusations against trump's campaign chairman (at the time) corey lewandowski. the current editor-in-chief at the daily wire said the hiring of brannon was turning the trump campaign into a 'turd tornado' (i.e. 'a sharknado with poop'). "steve is basically going to tell trump to be more militant, to double down, to be more focused [on the negativity and insults]'.
heeheehee. 'turd tornado'.
