YOU'VE GOT FRIEND IN ME

                    you get a pardon...you get a pardon...you get a pardon

claiming he only listened to their families and friends, and his gut...a conversation i can't even imagine...lord 'i can do whatever i want' dampnut offered a series of clemencies that apparently avoided the vetting process normally used by other administrations.

four of the 11 people who received a pardon or commutation were women of color (three black, one hispanic), i'm only going to assume were included in order to pander to the minority and female demographics ('see, i really care about women, especially women of color, so i'm definitely not a racist').  not surprising, the rest were white men of means who, for the most part were supporters and donors to his election/re-election campaigns with the one exception being rob blagojevich, the ex-democratic governor of illinois, who made up for his 'sin' of being a democrat by declaring to be a 'trumpocrat' upon his release.  all had one major thing in common:  they were all victims of an 'unfair' justice system wherein they had either pleaded or been found guilty at trial.

the timing for his actions seems slightly suspicious, coming so soon before the sentencing of his friend and mentor, roger stone.  it's being somewhat logically asked if his fundamentally legal-but-questionable actions are but a preamble to future intentions.  in talking about the actions he took he declared himself the "chief law enforcement officer", a comment i'm very sure didn't sit very well with the real 'chief', his hand-picked attorney general/lap dog.

as i write, stone is in court before a judge who has lashed back on the interference coming from the white house.  we can only wait to see what will happen from the outcome.   i can only think we can expect more outrage from members of the justice department at every level while, at the same time hearing little more than silence from the right.  i must wonder if barr will be a part of that outrage or will simply roll over and accept his complicit relationship in the destruction of his agencies across the board.

only time will tell, and time is running out.
