tragedy...

watching the coverage of the shooting at the elementary school and my heart breaks.  of course, the main question that will scream to be answered is WHY.  what is going to irritate me most is those who are going to step forward, crying "if only someone in the school had had a gun... blah blah blah".  i have only two words for them...SHUT UP!!!  i'd like to make that three words, but i want to keep this clean.  and this goes to people on the other side, too.  keep your political views out of this tragedy; leave these poor people alone and don't pull them into an ideological debate.  let them grieve.  let them try to pull themselves together.  give them your love and support.  pray for them in this hour of heartbreak.  save your bickering for a time in the future.  i'm sure that if you were in their shoes, you would expect the same respect, and nothing less.  none of this should be treated as just another batch of fodder for your debates.  whatever greater power you believe in, ask for these senseless acts to stop.  enough is enough.
