well, it's the first day of the new year and i can't believe it's been so long since i last posted something, but it proves one thing: i'm pretty damn good at procrastinating. actually, when it came down to it, i was simply getting kind of bored with all my complaining about the mango moron, his stupidity and his incompetence. sadly since i last decided to write something nothing much has changed. it's only gotten worse over time, and if the whole thing weren't so frightening one might say it's funny...and definitely not in the 'ha-ha-ha' sense.
with a count of over 15,000 false or misleading statements (and growing daily), a wall (remember the one he promised mexico would pay for? just to be clear, they haven't and won't) that's morphed from 'big' and 'beautiful' into stretches of metal slats that can be easily climbed or cut through with inexpensive every day tools one can easily purchase at home depot, that is when they're not simply replacing existing fencing. then there's the promise to repeal-and-replace the affordable care act. over 3 years in and not a plan to be had, only a continuing parade of court challenges that attempt to chip it away little by little with basically no real effect in how the law was intended to function.
and it goes on. but, of course, who's to blame but the 'do-nothing' democrats who've only sent 400+ bills to the senate, many passed with bi-partisan support, where they sit, unattended because defender of the orange, mitch mcturtle, refuses to bring them to the floor for debate let alone a vote.
this is all old news to everyone paying attention except for viewers of fox, or the favorite forum for administration propaganda, one america news. let's just say joseph goebbels would be proud of that one. nowadays, from rallies to appearances on television by his surrogates and defenders, to the daily barrage of increasingly bizarre and incoherent tweets, nearly every moment is dedicated to assaults on the impeachment process now edging closer to actually becoming a 'trial' in the senate. note the parentheses since normally an actual trial indicates there will be a degree of impartiality which, again apparent to those who have not been in a coma for the past couple of months, is going to be sorely lacking on the part of those under the supervision of chief white house butt-kisser, mcturtle.
but miss pelosi has bent them over a barrel (because she can), delaying the handover of the articles of impeachment until they know what kind of rules they'll be facing. witnesses or no witnesses? will they abide by their oath to be impartial? will they allow the introduction of new evidence coming to light just within the past weeks? and might this new evidence end up producing additional articles of impeachment?
face it, folks, the market on popcorn is going to be 'yuge'.
and this isn't even bringing up the continuing gun violence or opioid crises, or the ongoing fires ravaging areas across the world and now tensions rising in the middle east.
and some people wonder why i usually don't include 'happy' when greeting people at the start of a new year. we can hope it'll be a happy one but, let's face it, we've got a helluva lot of work to do in order to make it one. so, to me it's just another day that just happens to start not only a new year but a new decade. will either be 'happy'? sorry but i got rid of my tart cards, crystal and magic 8 balls years ago (and, believe me, i had them all) so i'll be as surprised as everybody else.
let's just say we've got a BIG job ahead and one of the biggest parts is making sure you vote in november. our world, our lives depend on it.
roll up your sleeves, it's only going to get harder from here.
