KEEP STIRRING THE SHIT
After his "Fire and Fury", which will henceforth be referred to as 'F&F', comments (and power. Let's not forget power), our Glory-ass Leader doubled down on Thursday by saying just maybe his comments didn't go far enough. He said "we're backed 100% by our military. We're backed by everybody and we're backed by many other leaders. And I noticed many senators and others today came out very much in favor of what I said." It was then he said that "perhaps" his statement "may not have been tough enough". When asked by a reporter what could possibly be tougher than "F&F" he replied, "Well, you'll see. You'll see." The only things missing were him rubbing his hands together while laughing diabolically and stroking a fluffy white cat. However, he was not finished.
He refused to say if a preemptive strike was off the table because, like his 30-day plan for defeating ISIS, it isn't something he would wish to discuss since he doesn't want them to see what's coming. I mean, who wants to spoil a good surprise? He also said that negotiations were not off the table but blamed everybody as far back as Bill Clinton for relying to heavily on them which is, according to him, why we're in this mess today. Naturally, blame everybody else (typical s.o.p.) because your actions couldn't possibly have anything to do with it, right?
He continued. "The people of this country should be very comfortable, and I will tell you this: If North Korea does anything in terms of even thinking about attack, of anybody that we love or we represent or our allies or us, they can be very nervous." Excuse me but was that supposed to be reassuring? "I'll tell you why," going on in his most 'comforting' manner. "I'll tell you why, and they should be very nervous. Because things will happen to them like they never thought possible."
There may have been more but to be honest I wasn't listening which is not unusual when he starts talking but for our purposes this is quite enough. First of all, almost immediately after his initial "F&F" statement on Tuesday the White House went into spin mode, making the point that his words had been 'off-the-cuff' and therefore had not been vetted by his aides or anybody in the military, almost as if they were subtly trying to backtrack and signal to the world to 'pay no attention to the man behind-but-really-standing-in-front-of the curtain'.
Secondly, when he said "we're backed by 100% by our military" that's something that's rather hard to verify since to my knowledge the military has had little to say, if anything, on the subject. However when he goes on to add "by everybody" he seems to be ignoring the 60+ lawmakers who sent a letter to Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, asking him to do what he could to keep the White House 'in check' on the subject of North Korea and help them "understand the importance of speaking and acting with the utmost caution and respect* on this issue."
Who the "many other leaders" he is referencing is not exactly clear but reaction from a few of the world's leaders, including the premier of New Zealand who admonished him for remarks he considered "not helpful" in an "already tense" environment, the Prime Minister of Australia who said "maximum economic pressure" was the only way to deal with North Korea and the mayor of Nagasaki, Tomihisa Taue, remarking while marking the 72nd anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on his city said anxiety was spreading "that in the not too distant future these weapons could be used again." These reactions are nit surprising since they represent countries in the immediate area that might be some of the most adversely affected and any from major European countries such as Great Britain and France, China and Russia are being kept close the vest logically (if that's the right term to use) awaiting the proper time to respond.
Finally, when he says that should North Korea should do "anything in terms of even thinking about attack...things will happen to them like they never thought possible", are we now supposed to assume that he has suddenly been granted the super-power to read minds, allowing him to punish someone for just thinking about something? If that were the case, you'd think he'd have been able to read the minds of all the voters, weeding them out before they went to the polls. He also should have been able to know when and how Saturday Night Live would be making fun of him and send out covert forces to abduct Alec Baldwin. With such a power the wall would be unnecessary because he'd know just when and where people would be trying to illegally enter the country. And don't even mention the terrorist attacks because he'd know all the details, the whys, whens and wheres; we'd never have to be afraid again. Now THAT would really make us feel comfortable.
Without the ability to read minds, he'll have to be content with the only super powers he already has, Super Thumbs (for tweeting), Super Mouth (and we all know how that works) and the ability to be Super Annoying (which involves both thumbs and mouth). Put them all together and you have, TA DA!!!
Faster than a speeding fact!
Able to destroy the world with a single tweet!
Note: As I'm finishing this up he's still going on, doubling, tripling down on everything he's said, but this time expanding his Pool of Approval saying that it includes "tens of millions of people around the world" who approve of what he says and how he's saying it, claiming they're telling him "It's about time." Yes, TENS OF MILLIONS!!! While that will take a while to verify (I'll get right on it), in the meantime we can only say...............................CAPTAIN BULLSHIT STRIKES AGAIN!!!
* Respect, however, is something Trump only seems to understand when it is concerning him, something he feels should automatically be given due his station; see loyalty, obeisance, kiss-my-ass-I'm-President Bitches, etc.
