well, scott walker has put his campaign 'on hold'. i guess that's the polite way of putting it when you decide to wimp out.
the one-time golden boy has decided to be the magnanimous one and withdraw from a highly contentious campaign because it was getting too vicious, too negative, something he apparently decided he just couldn't handle being a preacher's son and all. after proving he really didn't have anything to say (at least nothing that couldn't be easily debunked or criticized) and showing that he was becoming unrecognizable....in a recent iowa appearance he was thought to be marco rubio...and slowly slipping into irrelevance, there was nothing more for him to do. and taking a seat at the kid's table during the next debate was not an option.
i certainly will not try to claim that i was in the slightest way upset that his rather rapid (only 71 days. a record of sorts) slide to oblivion upset me; i almost broke out one of those frozen margaritas shoved in the back of my freezer, and learning more about what happened at the sight of his televised paragraph-and-a-half even made things funnier. according to sources there were only about two dozen there to witness it, and when he said he was dropping out, there was even a smattering of applause (that i saw for myself). it's even been mentioned that some of his big donors might even be looking for the return of any funds left in his 'war chest'. that made me laugh because yesterday in a comment section (i believe at huffington post) i wrote that he'd be waking up to a letter from the kochs asking for their money back. and i don't even have a crystal ball.
i won't even attempt to forecast anything else concerning his future which, unfortunately, will obviously mean he's coming back to the state. part of me would love to see him pull a 'full palin' and drop out of the governorship, but the downside to that is we'd be stuck with rebecca kleefisch who's about as dumb as a palin or a bachmann. speaking of her, we haven't heard so much as a peep out of her since the last election. come to think of it, i don't even recall seeing her during that campaign. makes me wonder if she even exists or, since she simply parrots anything walker says, maybe he's forgotten her in her dummy-trunk. one thing i'm relatively certain of is that we certainly haven't heard or seen the last of him (damn!), even on the national stage. he won't let go that easily as long as there's the slightest chance of him riding shot-gun for whoever ends up in the driver's seat. so people might want to consider investing in chapstick because the ass-kissing, i'm sure, will go into high gear.
as for now, it's time to start wagering on who's going to be the next one to fall off the klown kar as it rolls along with 'snotty scotty' quickly disappearing in the rear-view mirror, coughing in a cloud of exhaust. i really could care less. i wouldn't mind seeing the whole bunch self-destruct and go down in flames. that would be some blaze especially with trump's hair feeding the flames from all those gas-bags. as for the rest of you?
place your bets.
