that was their plan all along

it's funny how something's come to you at the strangest times, like stumbling one's way to the bathroom in the "wee" hours (get it?  "wee" hours?  well. sorry. it is three in the morning!).  anyway, as i was sitting there, i started thinking about how it's not fun commenting on some of the antics of bachmann and cruz anymore.  oh sure, you get the occasional injection of something relatively new from somebody like klingonshit (i'll have o check on that spelling when i'm fully awake)...(hell, i'm awake now and i'll just leave it as it is.) or jones, with maybe an interjection from the direction of wasilla (god! another spell check for morning!) just to liven things up a bit, but even a breath of insanity from sarah has a stale odor, and once you're done wiping away the refreshing tears from that last round of laughter, what are you left with?  more of the same-old-same-old, a re-hash of some old conspiracy theory or the re-working of "it's all obama's fault.." (or the ever reliable "that's not what i meant", "you're taking it out of context" or "LIBERAL MEDIA!  LIBERAL MEDIA!!")  to cover up one of their mis-steps and blunders.
anyway, like i said, i'm sitting there (hey!  i said it was 3 a.m.!  my aim's not that good when i'm half asleep!) thinking of how boring it's all gotten and...BAM!...it comes to me...THAT was their plan all along!  get us laughing at how ridiculous they are, how much more stupid their ravings have begun to sound, and all the while they have a dastardly plan to sneak in under the yucks and spring their trap!  it's evil!  it's devious!  i COULD say it's brilliant, even genius, but we are talking tea party here, so let's leave it at evil and devious.  teddy, michelle, even chaps, they're all just the opening acts, the warm-ups to the MAIN ACT!  something SO big and SO unexpected that we will be left TOTALLY unprepared for the CONSEQUENCES!!  and do you know what that plan is??  do you WANT to know what that PLAN IS???  CAN YOU HANDLE THE PLAN???  YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE PLAN???*

they probably don't, either.  it's the tea party.  does anything they do look like it's really had any planning? look at the trucker's rally that was supposed to gridlock washington d.c.  much like the "victory" of the government shutdown, both were such resounding "successes",  it wasn't long before the battle of the fingers commenced, this side blaming that side (both sides presumably on the SAME side) for the results, like the petulant children that they are, each holding their breath but neither really wanting to turn blue.

 but back to my initial point....it's fun to ridicule the stupid remarks, the non-fact-based "facts", the increasingly absurd conspiracy theories, and the professional comics are gleaning a butt-load of material, keeping them (and their writers) gainfully employed.  but scratch the surface, and you get to the real selves beneath...a bunch of seriously dangerous people being listened to and believed by a whole segment of the country, disillusioned and angry about the current state of affairs in this country.  they are disparate views, lacking cohesion, but, still, a bunch of pissed off people are really no laughing matter (ask henri xvi).
so, once again, they may be fun to mock and they do provide plenty of cheap entertainment, but always remember....don't turn your back, on even the funniest of the bunch.  some day they may tire of the name-calling (however much deserved) and the mocking (again, well deserved).  you never know when they'll decide to get their shit together.  and you know what they say about payback.   even these morons might eventually remember in which glass they left their teeth.
